Yvette Smith O'Connell

I was born and raised in Seattle, attending Nathan Hale High School and the University of Washington. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the UW and then went to work for my family’s business (Antique Distributors) selling antique furniture imported from England and France.  Several years later, I moved with my husband to Sacramento, California, where I attended McGeorge School of Law. We moved back to Seattle during my third year of law school, where I finished my final courses at Seattle University School of Law. I have my law degree from McGeorge School of Law with a concentration in tax, and was admitted to practice law by the Washington State Bar Association in 2002.

Outside of work, I spend time with my husband and two daughters, who are now both in college. We enjoy exploring Seattle, discovering new parks, traveling, house projects, cooking healthy meals together, and walking our dog. I value my relationships with my family and friends, and enjoy gardening, and keeping fit. Connecting with and meeting new people is one of the many reasons I love working in this area of law. Many people put off having their estate documents drafted for years and then experience a sense of relief when they begin the process; I truly appreciate being a part of that!
